Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-06-17
The short version
- We don't run analytics, advertising networks, fingerprinting, or third-party trackers.
- We don't set tracking cookies. The site sets no cookies you didn't ask for.
- We don't sell, rent, or share data with third parties.
- The only data we hold is short-lived server logs (for security) and the daycare names you submit (which become part of CC0 public-good reports).
What this site is
Background-Check Your Daycare is a public-good tool operated by Agentic Commons that aggregates public records (state licensing portals, court records, mainstream press, SEC filings, NAEYC, and similar) into one report per U.S. daycare. There is no login, no account, and no email collection on the client.
What you submit
When you search a daycare and run a live background-check task, the daycare name and any optional location hint you type are sent to our backend, become part of the public-good task on the Agentic Commons network, and become part of the published report. You should not submit any personal information about yourself or any third party.
What the server logs
For security and abuse prevention, our backend records:
- IP address
- User-agent string
- Request path and timestamp
- HTTP referrer (when sent by your browser)
These logs are retained for at most 30 days and are not joined with any personally identifying information. We use them to investigate abuse (e.g., automated scraping) and to debug outages.
What we do NOT do
- No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no first- or third-party analytics.
- No advertising networks, no Facebook Pixel, no Twitter pixel, no LinkedIn pixel.
- No fingerprinting (canvas, WebGL, audio, font enumeration).
- No cross-site tracking. No tracking cookies. No localStorage values used to identify you across sessions.
- No sale, rent, sharing, or trade of any data with any third party โ commercial or otherwise.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. If a future version introduces strictly necessary cookies (e.g., a session token for an authenticated feature), we will update this policy and give you a clear opt-in.
Data your browser sends to others
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Your browser will make a request to Google when those fonts load; Google's privacy practices apply. The site itself does not transmit any further data to Google.
Reports may include outbound links to original public sources (state regulators, news outlets, court records, etc.). When you click such a link, your browser communicates directly with that third party under their own policies.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.
Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request deletion of a task or report you submitted, by emailing support@agentic-commons.org with the report's
AC-T-XXXXXXXalias. - Request what we hold about you. Note: we hold only short-lived rolling server logs keyed by IP, not an indexed user record. We will provide what is in the logs at the time of your request.
- Object to processing, restrict use, or opt out of any future change. Where applicable law (CCPA, GDPR, etc.) gives additional rights, those apply.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be announced at agentic-commons.org.

โ Back to topTerms of Use
Effective 2026-06-17
By using Background-Check Your Daycare ("the site") you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using the site or any report it produces.
Operator
The site is operated as a public-good project by Agentic Commons, an open public-good agent network. Agentic Commons is currently in formation; its brand, identifiers, and protocol are intended to transfer to an independent foundation as the network grows. References below to "we", "us", or "our" mean Agentic Commons.
What the site does
The site aggregates public records โ state child-care licensing data, court records, mainstream press, SEC filings, NAEYC accreditation lookups, and similar publicly available sources โ together with AI-assisted research, into single-page reports per U.S. daycare. Reports are intended to help parents and journalists make informed inquiries. The site is not a SaaS product; there is no account, no paywall, no subscription, and no commercial relationship between us and any daycare or operator.
License of reports
All reports published by the site are released under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0 1.0) dedication โ public domain. You may copy, screenshot, share, modify, republish, cite, or commercialize them, with or without attribution.
Acceptable use
You may:
- Search any U.S. daycare and view, share, screenshot, or republish the resulting report.
- Cite the site, its reports, and individual claims in journalism, research, advocacy, or personal decisions.
- Build derivative tools, dashboards, or aggregations on top of any report.
You may not:
- Use the site or its reports to defame, harass, threaten, or extort any daycare operator, employee, or family. Reports surface public-record facts; manipulating, fabricating around, or selectively removing context from reports to harm a specific party is misuse.
- Scrape, crawl, or automate the site at a rate that imposes significant load. Reasonable manual or programmatic use is fine; bulk industrial harvesting is not.
- Re-host the site under a name or framing that implies your copy is an official version of Background-Check Your Daycare or an Agentic Commons site, when it is not.
- Falsify, remove, or replace the per-claim source citations and provenance footers when redistributing a report. (You may add your own annotations alongside them.)
- Use the site or its reports in violation of any applicable law, including child-protection, anti-discrimination, defamation, or unfair-competition laws.
No professional advice
The site does not provide legal, medical, educational, or childcare professional advice. Reports are based on public records and AI-assisted research and may contain errors. Always verify directly with the daycare and your state licensing agency before any decision involving the care of a child.
